General Contracting

A Contractor enters into a binding agreement with owners or owner-agents to perform work on a construction project(s). From a business management perspective, it is essential that accurate estimates are created early in the bidding process to ensure bidding success. Once a project is awarded a contractor is concerned with managing the amount of resources, equipment and materials to control the costs of the overall project.

General contractors take responsibility and accountability for completing the job for owners to construct an asset based on an awarded bid. Although General Contractor performs some parts of the project with his own teams; they often subcontract a portion of the work to other construction firms or specialty contractors.
